The St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions was created by Russian unions on October 9, 1926. His tasks initially included training the leaders of the world trade union movement, then the heads of cultural and tourism institutions of the socialist countries. Since 1992, the university has been working in the status of the University. Over the past 25 years, SPbGUP has become one of the leaders in higher education in Russia. Today about 8 thousand students study in it. The University has 5 branches: Kirov, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow Regional “Institute of Arts and Information Technologies” (Zelenograd), Samara, in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Alma-Ata).
